Ridging.
Ridging is the capping put in place along the apex of the roof and can be completed in various styles. Visit our photo gallery to see examples.
| Block cut pattern |
- shapes cut out from a thick layer of reed laid along the top course of coatwork. We favour an alternating Vee and scallop design. |
| Flush Ridge |
- as the name suggests this type of ridge melts into the line of the coatwork. |
| Saddle/Wrapover |
- achieved by placing a bent yealm over the apex on top of ridge rolls and reverses to produce a waterproof capping. |
| Butt-up |
- a layer of reed laid along the length of the top course of coatwork with one side [the predominant weather facing elevation] standing slightly proud. |
